“Sauti Moja,” which means ‘one voice’ in Swahili, focuses on improving the lives and well-being of women, children, and indigenous pastoralist communities in Kenya and Tanzania.
Sauti Moja- USA is a U.S. based charity with IRS tax-exempt status.
Providing long-term, community development & health education.
We believe in helping support and strengthen existing infrastructures.
Sauti Moja-USA is first and foremost a fundraising partner of Sauti Moja-Canada (sautimoja.org), a Canadian registered charity that has worked closely with pastoralist communities on social justice initiatives in northern Kenya and Tanzania for over two decades.
One of our USA co-founders (Megan) started her career working as a program manager for Sauti Moja-Canada and still serves on their board.
At Sauti Moja-USA we also believe that people from the local community are best equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to identify and respond to complex health and social inequalities on the ground.
We work closely with two local agencies, Sauti Moja-Tanzania in Longido, Tanzania and the Rural Education and Training Organization in Marsabit, Kenya to promote justice, rights, and health for the most marginalized members in society.

How We Work
Sauti Moja-USA is first and foremost a fundraising partner of Sauti Moja-Canada (sautimoja.org), a Canadian registered charity that has worked closely with pastoralist communities on social justice initiatives in northern Kenya and Tanzania for over two decades. One of our co-founders started her career working as a program manager for Sauti Moja-Canada and still serves on their board. At Sauti Moja-USA we believe in helping support and strengthen existing infrastructures, organizations, and projects. All our funds raised go directly to supporting Sauti Moja-Canada’s programs in Kenya and Tanzania.
Passion from our founders drives domestic donations and fundraising efforts.
Facilitates philanthropic work directly with established pastoralist communities.
All efforts & financial contributions go to supporting and strengthening existing infrastructures, organizations and projects for the beautiful people of East Africa.
All the staff in these two organizations are from the local communities and run on-the-ground programs with management support from Sauti Moja-Canada. Through this unique global partnership, Sauti Moja–USA serves as an accompaniment to the two decades of relationship building and long-term community development that leads to equitable and healthy communities.
